Meet the Moderator
Michelle Landrum
Employee Benefits Consultant, Bolton & Company
Meet Michelle Landrum, an accomplished insurance brokerage professional with over 15 years of experience. After starting her career in Georgia, Michelle relocated to California in 2017 and has since been providing expert guidance and innovative strategies to elevate her clients' employee benefits programs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Human Resources from Troy University, and is a licensed life/health agent, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, and Group Benefits Disability Specialist. Michelle is also actively involved in her community, serving as the President of the Los Angeles CEBS Board and the Engagement Chair of the PIHRA Pasadena Board. Her passions extend beyond her work and include transforming healthcare, space travel, and supporting charitable causes such as foster youth, children with disabilities, and animal rights.

Carolyn Cooksey Sims
Senior Manager for Community and Climate Equity Southern California Edison (SCE)
Carolyn Sims is the Senior Manager for Community and Climate Equity at Southern California Edison (SCE). In this role, Carolyn is responsible for leading both internal and external engagements with SCE’s community partners focused on equity and access. Through this work she has championed sponsorships for community organizations and she educates underserved communities on SCE’s programs and services that benefit their communities focused on their lived experiences.
Carolyn is a passionate advocate for women empowerment and leadership, earning a reputation as a master connector for having helped make connections for hundreds of women based on their personal needs or professional interests.
Carolyn currently serves on the board of directors for the Bloom Again Foundation, which assists women with rapid response grants to help bridge the gap in their living expenses when they experience a medical situation. She is also on the committee of C-Sweet, a professional women’s networking group that fosters executive-level relationships among women for business development, collaboration, and expanded career paths.
Carolyn was previously the president of the company’s African American Business Resource Group (BRG), Networkers, and the Women’s Roundtable. Currently services as an Advisor for Networkers BRG and is very engaged in high performing organizations, culture and work environment through the development and implementation of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging transformation.
She is also a 2018 recipient of the J.K. Horton Humanitarian Award, a distinction given to employees of SCE for exemplary acts of citizenship or service under emergency conditions. Carolyn earned a Master of Science in Human Resources and a Bachelor of Science in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University. She is a mom to three adult daughters, and is happily married to her husband for over 30 years.
Jessica Mullan
Director of Measurement Systems, Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA)
Jessica Mullan is a sustainability strategy and measurement expert with 15 years guiding multinational companies, NGOs and international development organizations on accelerating sustainability and social responsibility in supply chains and development programs. She specializes in the Consumer Packaged Goods and agricultural sectors, having developed strategies for organizations that include: McDonald’s, PepsiCo, Smucker’s, Coca-Cola, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the United Nations. She is currently the Senior Director of Sustainability Measurement Systems for the global Committee on Sustainability Assessment.
Ally DeGunther
Sr. Manager, Strategic Initiatives of the COO at Avantus
Ally started working at 8minute Solar Energy when she was just a teen. Yes, she’s that smart—but she’s also resourceful and adaptive, helping define a variety of roles as the company evolved. By taking on positions across finance, engineering, technology, and project management, Ally has been instrumental in defining many of the company’s ways of working.
As Avantus was born out of 8minute, Ally’s institutional knowledge has made her a trusted consultant in answering questions that don’t fit anywhere else. Today, her enthusiasm for personal and professional growth keeps her on the front edge of innovations, as she collaborates with cross-functional teams on what’s-next topics such as green hydrogen. She’s also taken on a critical role in managing and pushing forward the company’s vision and strategy from executives to all levels of the company. This has enabled the company to scale and expand its markets.
Ally is also passionate about company culture and outside of her normal role she serves as the president of the Culture Forum. The Culture Forum enables diversity and inclusion to promote a positive working environment for all. Under her leadership the company has made dozens of improvement to the company culture based off data collected. Ally ultimately hopes to enable a clean-energy future with empowered team members.
Kiran Srivastava
Senior Director of Business Development, Climate at ICF
Kiran Srivastava is a renewable energy policy professional with over fifteen years of professional experience. Over the last ten years, she has focused on strategic development and management of federal energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Her work has included research and analysis in order to develop reports and white papers on renewable energy technologies, market assessments and policy recommendations. Ms. Srivastava’s notable contributions include extensive support to federal agencies such as the Department of Energy – Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Office (EERE) and the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E). Ms. Srivastava used her expertise to build a number of tools and resources to help Islands such as Hawaii and Islands in the Caribbean and Pacific in converting from fossil-based to renewable energy generation. She assisted in crafting a road map detailing how the State of California can convert it’s fossil-based hydrogen supply to a renewable supply for it’s transportation sector. Kiran is a founding member of the Women in CleanTeach(WICT) diversity initiative at the Los Angeles CleanTech Incubator.
